23 days doesn't seem that long!

23 is short when you're counting down to Christmas vacation or the end of the trimester. However, 23 days seem torturous when you are spending it with 17 eight years old who think it's already summer. I serious don't remember the third grader being this misbehaved last year at this time. Of course the behavior I'm getting from this class now would be considered good behavior for last years class at any time during the year. Punishment and incentives don't work and according to a veteran teacher all I can do is 'become exhausted by the end of the day and pull your hair out'. Something to look forward to.

Disney News: Disney has made an actual Wall e robot that move around on it's own and is roaming the streets of L.A. and Disneyland. http://www.screamscape.com/html/wdw_-_hollywood_studios.htm I'm sure it won't be long till his tire treads are see in the streets of Disney world.

The last one

Disney News: Did you know there are no less than 8 schools named Walt Disney? The first one was in PA. Walt was at the dedication and even sent some of his artist to draw Mickey and the gang on the walls.

Mallory graduated from college yesterday. That's the last of us. We are all college graduates now and live in the real world. It just doesn't seem possible. It was only yesterday I was hanging her over the upstairs railing threating to let go (Ahh, big sisterhood). Now Mal joins the rest of the over worked, underpaid teachers. As Monica said on Friends, 'Welcome to the real world! It sucks! You're going to love it!'

Job! I hope..

I looks like my job is safe since today is the last day pink slips can be handed out and I'm not in school. Of course I was told that pink slips have been hand delivered to teacher's homes before. Why, oh, why did I take the 'job I will like' road instead of 'job that pays what I'm worth' road?

Rick is home form St. Louis! He called me from the top of the St. Louis arch. I didn't even know you could go inside that thing. He had a great time. His boss said had he been thinking ahead he would have sent Rick on the Visa card convention to D.C. also. I think I can only handle one trip per year.

Disney News: I saw Iron Man last night. It features the Walt Disney Thearter in L.A. I was happy to see it!

job, no job, job, no job

As of last Friday I thought my job was safe. As of this Friday it will probably be back on the chopping block. Talk about being jerked around! Should have majored in computer programing.

Grandpa is home and doing very well. He was VERY stubborn about doing things his own way even though they were not safe. My class has been following his progress over the last month and when they found about about his stubbornness, one of the kids said "Well, if these things will help him, why doesn't he do them?". Ahhhh, from the mouth of babes. They all decided to make him sign to encourage him to do the right thing like, 'Wear your sweatpants' and 'Eat your meals-on-wheels'. He loves the signs and is now doing all the right things for recovery!

Rick's in St. Louis on business till Thursday. Miss him already! He made tons of food last night to make sure I didn't starve because he knows I can't cook. There are no words to describe what a saint that man is, especially with the grandparents.

Disney News: New movies about Tink and her fairy friends will be out this fall. They are all CGIed but look good.
