Give A Day Get A Disney Day

Would you give up a Saturday volunteering for a free day at Disney of your choosing? I know I would. Disney's new campaign Give A Day Get A Disney Day does exactly that. Starting Jan 1, 2010 you can sign up to volunteer in a community near you for a day. Then once you've completed your day of service, you get a free day at a Disney parks. Everyone can earn a day including children as long as they have an adult with them to volunteer. The Muppets are doing a great job getting the word out about this deal. The best part is you'll be able to use this day whenever you want. It's not tied into your birthday like last year (I missed out on that deal!). And if you can't use your day you can donate it to charity. Rick says we are not going to go for the next 5 year, but I'll wish and hope and volunteer anyway. You never know when the magic of Disney may move him. Here's the web site:http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/WhatWillYouCelebrate/index?name=Give-A-Day-Get-A-Disney-Day

You've got a friend in Photopass!

Disney has lots of professional photographers around the park. Usually they are located at the most popular photo ops. All the photos above were taken by the Disney photographers. They can even photoshop in special effects like Tink in our hands! When you take your first Disney professional photo, the photographer will give you a photopass card. From there on give your pass to each Disney professional photographer and they will add your new photo onto the card. Then you can either go to a photo viewing station or look at your picture online and order them there. It's a great way for your whole family to be in the important pictures you'll treasure forever!

Disney water taxi

Your Disney World tip: If you can save just a bit more money and stay at one of the hotels on the Seven Sea Lagoon do it. This was the view out of our slider at the Grand Floridian. We could walk to the boat dock in a minute and hop on the boat. It made one more stop at the Poly (the last hotel we stayed at) and then on to the Magic Kingdom. The Contemporary, Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge all have water taxis. It was the best and fastest way to get to the happiest place on earth.

The Biggest Disney fan is ....

I just read on another Disney blog that someone else was named the biggest Disney fan in a contest and won a free trip. Now I like this person and listen to him on another Disney fans podcast, but he himself said he doesn't feel like the biggest Disney fan.....and he's right. So I'll be returning to the purpose of this blog and giving only short updated about my life. As you can see life hasn't been terrible interesting lately anyway. On with the Disney Magic!

Disney recently held it's D23 (Disney's official fanclub, which I am a member of) expo in CA. There were many, many announcement and surprises. One of the biggest was the expansion of Fantasy Land in WDW. Toontown will be removed to make way for a princess land complete with villages that look just like the princess villages and homes in the movies. More information was given about Carsland being built in Disneyland for opening in 2012. Some of the surprises were all the celebrities on hand such as Tim Burton, directors of the new live version of Alice in wonderland, Nicholas Cage announcing a National Treasure 3 and the best and biggest of all, Johnny Depp in character as Captain Jack Sparrow announcing Pirates 4. For the first time the Disney legends ceremony was held in public. Betty White, former Golden Girl, and Robin Williams, the Genie in Aladdin, were inducted as legends. Weddings and school

I promise to finish blogging about my trip....someday. I am busy moving things out of my old classroom and into my new classroom, which as less storage, one bulletin board and is on the third floor which makes it unbearably hot this week. Change is good, moving is fun, change is good. I've decided to decorate the bare concrete walls with Disney characters. I'm not sure how, but I'm thinking window clings. I've gotta cheer that room (and myself) up somehow. I hope the third grades don't eat me alive. How do I only have 1 1/2 weeks left of summer?

Mallory's wedding was this weekend. She looked beautiful. Everything went smoothly. It was hot! Rick and I were in charge of the grandparents. Grandpa was in usual slowski mode which was as expected. Gram took her third Ritalin of the day. Ritalin calms ADHD children down but it does the exact opposite to adults. So Speed Gonzalez was running around with her walker going here and there and wanting to talk with this person and that. There's me running to catch up and trying to convince her to take it easy. I was exhausted! No more drugs for her.

In keeping with the name of this blog, I am going to give you a quote from a Disney movie. First one to name it will get a mention on my next post. Here we go!

"Somebody needs to nail that girls fin's to the floor!" -???????

Also I am start Disney Friday nights. I will be watching a Disney movie every Friday at 7 pm. Everyone and their little folk are invited to watch with me. If you bring your own meat, I'll BBQ and provide drinks and chips. Just let me know if you're coming ahead of time. This Friday's movie will be Mulan.

By the way, Erika won my Where in Walt Disney World is Kristi? guessing game on Facebook. I am very impressed because I've known Erika for about 6 years and in that time she's never been to Disney World. WAY TO GO ERIKA!

Disney Day 2

Note: All my pictures are on my facebook page. Friend me up!

Disney Day 2

We woke up early as we had an 8:35 am reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table which is in the castle. This make Cindy’s place the most coveted place to eat which is why I took 3 trip to Disney to get in. The most exciting part of the reservation was that we got to enter the park before the rest of the crowds. To a scrapbooker, it is a dream because you can get a shot down main street without the people in the way. Thus we arrived an hour early just for the pictures. There is something magical about an empty Disney, especially on Main Street. You can actually here the music, slow down and appreciate the buildings and stand in the middle of Main Street and stop without being run over.

Rick kept me on schedule and we arrived at breakfast right on time. Before we were seated we met for pictures and a chat with Cinderella. We told her we were married in Disney 5 years ago. She said, “Welcome home!”. I could have cried. I called Disney home the minute I arrived!

We met 4 princesses during breakfast: Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Jasmine. I told Snow White that I had ducks in my back yard and she asked, “Do they help you clean?”. I said, “No, but I should try that.” “All you have to do is call them!”, she said. Jasmine advised that we visit Aladdin over by the flying carpets. “If you see him tell him, TAG!” Jasmine said. I just love how they stay in character!

Once breakfast was through we headed out into the Magic Kingdom which had just opened. I noticed Ariel’s Grotto wasn’t busy. This is where Ariel sits to greet you because she is a mermaid. She noticed our Happy Anniversary buttons and asked if my true love saved me form a sea witch. I had met 6 princesses in the first hour of park time! This was a good omen.

We walked onto basically every ride we went on during our entire trip. We rode Peter Pan’s Flight, Hall of Presidents (Obama looked freakishly real and they put W. way in the back. While we were entering the que for we heard someone leaving ask a cast member ‘Is there a show in here or something?’ I burst out laughing!), Haunted Mansion, Small World (First time, not impressed, but it’s a 50+ year old ride. I did like the dancing penguins with hats), Pirates (Jack is still a character in the parks but only a stage where women can’t touch him), Jungle Cruise and my favorite, Mickey’s Philharmagic. I love all the different scenes and music from the movie I grew up with. By then is was about 1 p.m. and we headed back to the hotel to relax.

We swam in the pool with had a water slide and water fall. Rick loved the water slide with twists and turns. The lifeguards were playing games with the kids. The kids had to fill a bucket with a hole in the bottom with pool water and then run over to a hole-less bucket and fill it with the holey bucket water. It was fun to watch. I loved that I was in the pool and could see the lagoon, the beach, Magic Kingdom and the Monorail. How wonderful!

We went back to the Magic Kingdom after dinner to do Tomorrowland. We took the boat this time. We could see and hear the boat from our room because the launch was right in front of us! It was a 5 min ride tops. We took the train to Toontown and walked to Tomorrowland, which was kind of a ghost town because Space Mountain and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority were closed until November for refurbishment. We hopped on got fast passed for Buss Lightyear and went to Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. I love it because it involves the audience one-on-one. Rick beat me at Buzz of course. The ride did give him a headache. He traveled back to the hotel which left me time to shop on Main Street. I also caught some of the Spectro Magic parade which I wasn’t really impressed with. I scooted out of the park before the parade ended. I happily watched the Wishes fireworks from my room once again.

It's a good thing I just came back form Disney.

I was told today that I will be teaching third grade, not second, at a different school in Manchester. Apparently the $3 million in stimulus money the city 'found' to rehire teachers is going to be 'held on to' until January, you know, when it's really needed. I kinda knew it was coming and, yes, at least I still have a job. What other job do you know of where they get to change the place where you work, who you work with and under and what your work will detail all at once and not pay you a penny more for it. Oh and you have to move yourself! This ends our gripe session. I've heard good things about my new school and look forward to working there. No one likes change, but it is probably time for yet another one for me. What would a new school year be without moving my entire classroom? (still not gripping) :)

I need a day to digest all this new info. I think I'd like to be transferred back to Disney. Why do I let him convince me to get back on the plane every time? More Disney tomorrow!

Day 1 in Disney

Day 1

On our way in to Manchester airport, Mickey Mouse called to wishes us a happy vacation! The flight was a flight. We took the Magical Express to the Grand Floridian. It was noon and our room was not ready yet. We wandered the hotel doing some shopping, looking at the pool and reminiscing about the wedding pavilion which we could see from the beach. We have lunch in the grill and waited from our room to be ready in the lobby; and waited and waited. The front desk said they had a room that faced the castle head on but had to queen size bed opposed to the room we were assigned that had a view of space mountain and a king size bed. I didn’t think Rick would like that, but after another hour of wait, he just wanted a room. We had a very nice bellman named Jerry help us with the luggage. He’s been working there for 21 years! We certainly did have a wonderful view of the castle, space mountain and the monorail.
We headed to Downtown Disney to see La Nouba, the Cirque de Soleil show. It was a bizarre show. They had trapeze artists, clowns, and acrobats with weird sets, lighting and music. I loved the little Chinese girl who use these sort of yo yos and perform tricks. I didn’t like the BMX bikers who would come racing at you and then stop inches form your head with a screech! Don’t ever sit on the corner back row!
T-Rex was new restaurant that Rick wanted to check out. It has animatronic dinosaurs throughout the restaurant. Every 20 minutes there was a meteor shower where the dinosaurs moved and screamed.
After that we did some quick shopping and made it home in time to see the Wishes fireworks show from the magic Kingdom from our balcony. What could be better?

Sunday, July 26, 2009

what do you mean no Wishes fireworks at 10pm?

There's no castle outside my window, no monorail at my door and no characters to greet me?!?!?! Is this a bad dream? Oh wait, the Disney dream has ended. good thing I have all the souvenirs. MUCH MORE LATER!

3 days to go! I don't know what else to say. Keep up with me on facebook during the week!

Where in the (Disney) world is Kristi?

9 more days! I am starting to pack seeing as I will be in a grad class from 9-3 all next week. I bought new luggage because I needed it and because it's Disney! I had Mickey and my initials put on a suit case, carry on, messenger bag and toiletry bag....also on a lunch box not for the trip obviously. Yeah, if you need something and Disney can provide it, why not?

I have figured out how to post pictures directly form my phone to facebook. My friend's daughter inspired me to figure it out so she could play where in the (Disney) world is Kristi. She started the games when she went to Disney in April and her group would post pictures. So Thanks Shanns and enjoy everyone. The game begins next Saturday. Maybe I'll give out a Disney prize for the most correct answers! Anything to buy Disney merchandise!

Everyone on the ark! No, not you mosquitoes!

How? How is it raining and sunny at the same time? I mean I can see shadows from the sun and it's raining. Not drizzling, raining. I guess I'll only see the sun when we're in Disney. 10 days and counting!

Things that make me happy....and sad

Week one of vacation is over. It was busy mostly with fun things I've been waiting to do all school year. I made 2 scrapbook layouts, cleaned my closet and read some books. I had time to savor the finer things in life such as fresh lemon slices in water. It taste just as good as soda or juice....but not as good as a fresh cup of milk (yum). Okay so lemon is more a smaller than finer thing in life. I am just glad to have the time to savor things that make me happy. Speaking of happy: 1 week and 5 days until Disney!

Disney News: A Cast Member (CM) of WDW was killed today when one monorail car slammed into the back of another. Only six passengers were on board and none where hurt. Disney has a safety system that should have kept this from happening. They test it every day and do maintenance on the monorail trains every other day. The monorail is closed as of now and I am sure Disney will be doing a full investigation. This is the first death in monorails history. My thoughts are with the CM's family members and the CM at WDW.

My familiar friend

I haven't written about Disney in a while so I thought I'd tell a story. Two days after graduating high school I had to start college at BYU in Provo, UT. I was so excited to start the second part of my life. Excitement soon turning to a serve bout of home sickness. I felt I was all by myself even thought my best friend and her mom lived walking distance away. As I was wandering through campus one day I found a little craft shop. There on a shelf with a familiar figure. It was a Mickey Mouse punch (seen above)! I immediately bought it and felt a little better. I ended up leaving BYU and flying home, but I feel good knowing that my childhood (and adult) friend always shows up in times of need!

Disney News: I will be landing at Orlando Airport this time 2 weeks from now!

More Ducklings!

That's right...more ducklings! These are tiny babies. I finally saw them first instead of Rick. There are seven of them. They waddled over to the swap before I could drive around the other side of pond and get picture so these were taken from the porch and zoomed. Two sets of ducklings and I can watch this set grow up. I had Rick buy industrial clippers to cut down the small bush/tree blocking the pond view. I didn't want to miss the sighting of any more ducklings and obviously it was well worth it. I also posted a picture of the first set of ducklings. They grow up so fast!

First day off

Here's some reasons I couldn't be a stay at home....well not mom, unless you count Herbie...house wife I guess. Well, first off house wife sounds like I belong in the 1950's and that's scary. Day time TV stinks, except maybe the Price is Right, but it's not the same with Bob Barker. There's no one to talk to. Thankfully I'm going to lunch with Ashley today. I guess it's good that I'm only playing house wife for about half the summer. I'll be in Disney, taking a class and setting up my class room the other half. I'm not complaining mind you. I'm happy for the time off. Now if we could just get some sun!

Celebration good times. Come on!

So another school year has come to an end. Rick asked, "Are you happy or sad?" "Neither" I replied. I had a nice class and I'm happy to see them ready for third grade and move on....I'm excited for some to MOVE ON more than others. Last year I was sad. I really connected to my class. Third grade...SEE YA!!! Of course I'm moving again this year. But I don't know where. It could be to another room or another school. I won't know until July 31st. I've adopted a 'whatever' attitude towards it all. I have a job, I don't have to move anything until August and I can't stop anything of this from happening so whatever. You can't fight change! Besides I have bigger things happening...

3 weeks until Disney! I can't believe it! I booked some spa treatments at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. I am renting a car....sorry a CONVERTIBLE to drive to Celebration, FL. This town was developed by Disney back in 1996. Disney no longer runs it. However, magical touches still remain such as snow falling every night downtown from Thanksgiving until Christmas (no shoveling required) and bird sounds piped in. It is the closest town to Disney property since it once was Disney property. Sounds like my kind of town doesn't it? This is really a fact finding mission to check out the town and houses and see if I would really want to live there. Rick says he's not coming because he doesn't want to encourage the living in Florida thing. Like I need encouragement! I'll take pictures!

You are not alone. I am here with you.

I am having a bit of trouble with Michael Jackson's death. Was a big fan? Nope. Do I think he did the awful things to children he was accused of? I don't know. The trouble I have is how a person who was so clearly in pain and in need of help created such wonderful music and dance. His talent can not be denied. It's God given. Do true genius come from pain? Kurt Cobain, Princess Diana, Elvis....all had a talent and were geniuses, all were in great pain. Though the second half of his life was a freak show, Michael Jackson never stood a chance at life. Why am I so interested? I see young Michael's every day at school. Kids that don't have a chance not matter how hard they try, There's nothing you can do to save them even though you put your every waking thought and action into helping him or her. Hugs your kids tonight and let them know how good they have it. RIP Michael.

Nemo the hermit crab?

We have a new edition to our family! It's Herbie the Hermit Crab! I saw him this weekend in the Providence mall. This cart paints shells for hermit crab to live in. Well, as I saw a shell painted like Nemo I had to have him. We bought him a little pool and a climbing wall and a log to climb on. Mostly he likes to dig deep holes and sleep in them. Crazy crab! More to come about our getaway weekend.

2 days left of school. I was out today with bronchitis. 3 different meds just to stop coughing! I hope this is it for sickness before we are off to Disney. 25 days to go!

Baby Ducks 2009!

This year's baby ducks are in! They are so big. I don't know how we missed them growing up. I heard a faint peeping sound. Rick, who was already out on the deck, spotted them first again! I ran over to the over side of the pond and fed them. Look how close they were! I wanted to scoop one up! They were born a lot earlier this year. New baby ducks is like a new puppy in our house, except it happens every year. More to come!

Sunday, June 14, 2009

Do you Roomba?

What do you do when it's been raining 5 of the past 7 days and your sick once again? There's nothing on TV. The ducks have abandoned you. You watch your brand new Roomba clean your floors! He's like a little pet. He makes the cutest noises such as the happy song he sings when he's done cleaning the floor and wants you to see what a good job he's done. I've named him Robbie! The best part is I don't have to nag him to vacuum. I'm not even out of school yet and I'm this hard up for entertainment?!?!?!?

UP

Tenth times the charm for Pixar! Up is funny, heartwarming and adventurous! But who wouldn't love a movie with a talking dog that says things like "I have just met you and I love you......Squirrel! Hi there!"? Now I have to admit the first 10 minutes of the movie made me sad. Well, not just said. I cried. Well, not just cried. Sobbed....in the middle of a sold out movie theater.....around small children....me, the teacher. People die, I'm not emotional. Animated characters die, ducks die, a story about ducklings falling down a drain comes on; I cry like a baby. (I still think there's sometime wrong with me.) Poor Rick. He'll need to screen all the Disney/Pixar movies ahead of time form now on so I don't embarrass him. Other wise, the rest of the movie was hilarious. Even Rick couldn't stop laughing. I'm going again next week to see it in 3D and then I'll decided if it deserves a third screening. Every Pixar movie gets atleast 2 screens. Some Disney titles get more than one. The title is held by Enchanted which I saw 5 times in theaters. Ahhh.... Amy Adams.

By the way, I did see Night at the Museum 2 last weekend because Amy Adams plays Amelia Earhart. Amy Adams was wonderful. Go see it for her. The rest of the movie: Sucko! NOT FUNNY AT ALL! I really don't get Ben Stiller. Just cause your father's funny doesn't mean you are.

Warning: I saw a preview for G-force from Disney. It's about secret agent ginuee pigs. yeah. I know. I'm hoping that they let the produce Jerry Bruckheimer make this film so he would sign on for Pirates 4. Otherwise I'm not sure what Disney was thinking.

Happy influence-a-child's-life Day

Happy Mother's Day to all my friends that are important in a child's life. If you influence a child's life, you are part of the community that helps raise them. Goodness knows I've been called mom by accident in the class room more times than I can account. So I happy to influence the life of all my students, Katie, Emma, Shannon, Riley, Drew and soon baby Parker!

Disney News: I rented Bedtime stories this weekend. It was cute, but there was too much Disney product placement. For example the kids in the movie were watching the Suite Life with Zack and Cody; also they put Buzz Lightyear in a space scene. I love when Disney puts little hints about other movie or Disney things in scene of new Disney movies, like in enchanted when Giselle looses her shoe as she is fighting the dragon and Prince Edward tries in on McDreamy's girlfriend and it fits. OK, too much Disneyana for you all I know.

Hannah Montana the movie was great. I loved the country music she sang and wish she'd sing more. Up will be out on May 29th in IMAX 3D only. 3D movie make Rick sick so if anyone wants to go with me let me know!

Penguins!

We saw the penguins today at the New England Aqarium. We got in the door right at 9 am. The Little Blues were very noisy today. They made sound I've never heard before. We had a wonderful getaway weekend and the best hotel room with a great view. More tomorrow!

Random Happy thought of the day

I honor of April vacation (3 days and counting) I'll be listing random happy thoughts all week!

After the rain is done it will be 80 degrees! Time to set up the porch and read some magazines!

I love e-mail. What did we do without it?

I love that my friend D calls me by my last name and has known me long enough to have called me by my maiden name.

If I could marry a company it would be Disney. But then I'd cheat on it with Apple (Ipods, ilife and iwork rock).

Enjoy!

HEAVEN!

Today was 90 days out from our first day of Disney which meant I could called to book reservations at the restaurants. Now the hardest meal to get is breakfast at Cinderella's Royal table in the castle. The best part about this meal is that if you get a reservation before 9 am, you'll basically be walking down Main Strett USA toward the castle all by yourself. For a scrapbooker like me, that's heaven. It took me three trips to Disney, but I have a reservation at 8:25 am the first morning we are there! That will leave lots of time for pictures! I had to call first thing at 7 am this morning to get such a great spot, but it'll be worth it. Just think no random people in your castle shot, no kids climbing on Walt's statue, no balloon vendors blocking your shot: HEAVEN! I'm more excited about the pictures than the meal.

Here's the lastest Disney page!

Sunday, April 12, 2009

My friend Chantal did a random thought blog ans since I have nothing exciting to say, I decided to do one also:

1. On Friday I saw one of my beloved female Mallard duck dead on Hooksett road at the turn off for Granite Hill (my house). I knew she was one of mine and cried all the way to work. Cried like a baby...make-up running off my face and everything. Yet 2 weeks ago a co-worker from State Farm passed away and not a tear was shed. I liked him a bunch and felt bad for his family, but nothing, nadad. For a duck, 15 minutes of tears. There's something wrong with me.

2. My husband was one of two husband that came to the Dance Gala at school for the kids and their families. He even bought a carnation for me form the PTA on the way in! All the teacher were jealous. I love him bunches. I am a lucky girl!

3. It's spring. We've already fired up the BBQ. Yum!

4. You know how your mother said, 'Your sister will be your best friend when your older,'. She was right, damn it. My mother didn't even have a sister so how did she know?

5. 48 days left of school! I can't even believe it. It's good and bad. I have so much to do!

Happy Easter!

Disney News: Hannah Montana: The Movie opens this weekend. I already have my tickets!

Sunday, March 22, 2009

I'm coming Mickey!

We're booked! July 18-25 at the Grand Floridian. AAA even found us a direct flight from Manch to Orlando; Total flight time: 3 hours! That means I'll be in Disney about noon! You know how I hate to burn park time. Now comes the planning, meal reservations, and shopping. Even though I'm only there for a month, it's 6 months of dreaming!

Sick, Sick, Sick all the time!

I've been sick over a week now. I honestly hope it's a sinus infection so at least I can treat it. But what else can a teacher expect of a vacation? I did get to go to lunch with my best friends Chantal who I usually only see at Christmas. Twice a year is quite the treat! She was here taking the bar for MA. I hope she passes and moves back, but, as I said to her, I won't get too excited because she never stays in one place for very long. Yet she remains my closest friend, who always knows exactly how I feel and what I'm talking about. She saves me thousands in therapy bills!

FYI, I may lose my job yet again this year. I teach because..... If anyone hears of a teaching job let me know! Thanks.

Here's my latest layout. It's becoming easier and easier to scrapbook digitally. I don't have to order special size photos or print out my journaling and then put it on my page. I can also change the color of my papers and embellishment. I don't see myself going back to tradition paper.

Monday, February 16, 2009

computer killed the tradition scrapbooking star

Well, I have finished more layouts in the past 2 month digitally than I did all last year. So I think it's safe to say there's no going back. So I am selling some of my scrapbooking supplies. Now I am not selling everything right away (I'm not insane), but the things I don't think I'll use or have never used is going. I have listed the first item on e-bay to see how it sells. I will try to do a preview on my blog this week of the rest of the items. If someone wants something, make me an offer. Otherwise it's going on e-bay. Bigger items I'm consider selling is my Wishblade which was the quickcut shiloette. I got a brand new one form the company because the broken one I bought from e-bay didn't work. I think I've used it twice. It may only work with Microsoft no macs just to warn you. If you really want one I could be convinced to sell it since all the money I raise will be for my DISNEY TRIP! Let me know.

Currently on ebay: item 290296788498

Disney News: High school Musical 3 comes out on DVD tomorrow. I, of course, have found the best deal. If you buy HSM3 on DVD or blurray you get a $10 target gift card! I will be getting the $22.99 deluxe edition with digital copy for your computer and ipod, DVD and bonus material.

Kristi Suter, You've sold you car of 9 years. What are you goin to do next?

That's right, I AM GOING TO DISNEY! Okay we're going to Disney. It's my wonderful husband who makes Disney possible. We are not booking until April for July 5-11. Yes it's torture to wait, but at least we are going. I thought that door was slammed once I had to sell Maxi and all extra money would go toward buying a new car, which is true, but if I can stand driving my grandpa's car, whom I've named Ned, for the next six months than we'll have the money to go. If that is the case, than I can drive Ned till the end of time! So, more details to come. Here's a pic from our 2007 trip (I should probably finish scrapbooking that one before I leave for the next trip).

R.I.P. Maxi

Poor Maxi! She's someone else's baby now. She didn't pass inspection because of two senors that were setting off the check engine light even though there was nothing wrong with the engine or anything else. But I just couldn't justify spending $1000 needed to fix her when she's a 1997 and not starting well in the mornings. Luckily my grandpa is nice enough to let me use his car since he is not. When Penny (Rick's car) is paid off he's gonna get a new one and give Penny to me. I'm spoiled, I know. So I am driving the Buick Century which I call either Ned or the 'Old'mobile. However, driving Ned of the next 6 months or so will come with a BIG reward. Stay tuned for that announcement. Farewell Maxi, old friend! You'll be missed.

scrapbooking Disney Soul Mate!

I have found my soul mate! No, not Rick and not a romantic soul mate of course. I'm talking about someone who understands me and my ways, my love of Disney and scrabooking, especially digital Disney scrapbooking. Her name is Brittney and she designs digital kits for Scrapmatters.com under the name Brit-tish Designs, most of which are Disney themed. She lives in CA . She visits Disneyland in CA on a regular basis and is a big of a fans as I am. Best of all, she runs a great blog brittishdesigns.blogspot.com on which she features 'show offs', as she calls them, of layouts other create with her kits. My Woddy layout might be featured on her sight next week! All those who send in layouts received a free gift most of the time. She also announces her new kits and along with buy one, get ones deals, sales and freebies! Go check out all the awesome Disney layouts people have sent in and download some freebie, but don't forget to leave her a message if you do! I'll be creating another layout tomorrow of next weeks 'show off'.

Make your own fairy and win a vacation!

Disney news: You can enter to win a Disney vacation by making your own fairy and playing with Tinkerbell and her friends. I made my fairy Charlotte Wildfly and you can see her at http://pixiehollow.go.com/pixiepages/1174MistyRaindropFalls. It was fun and only took a few minutes. My can make your own fairy at http://pixiehollow.go.com/contests_home.html?source=PpDfFphDem00003. (This is what Disney obsessed teachers do on snow days!)
